Barry Battles is best known for his debut feature film, The Baytown Outlaws (2012), which he co-wrote and directed. The film features an ensemble cast including Billy Bob Thornton, Eva Longoria, Travis Fimmel, and Thomas Brodie-Sangster. Notably, the script earned a spot on Franklin Leonard's prestigious Hollywood Black List, recognizing the industry's most acclaimed unproduced screenplays.
In addition to his work in feature films, Battles directed Far Cry 5: Inside Eden's Gate (2018), a stand-alone film produced by Ubisoft to promote the popular video game Far Cry 5. This project expanded his repertoire into the realm of video game adaptations.
Alongside his writing partner Nir Paniry, Battles co-wrote Space Channel 5 for SEGA and Picture Start, with Erik Feig producing. The duo has also been brought on to the animated film Amberville for New Regency and director Conrad Vernon.
Barry has been a member of the DGA since 2018.
